About Homework

Think of Fire as warmth: something that welcomes us in, hums with emotion and connects us to our past. It’s the element that helps us find our passion and joy, be creative and gives us energy to take action.

Remember the smoke in the air? It’s an ancient ritual to honour ancestors. Where lingering citrus collides with incense burning in the fading light; the flickers of fire as paper offerings for the spirits disappear into the atmosphere.

The burn time of the regular candle is 35 to 40 hours, the large candle burns 55 to 60 hours.

The candles are made using a blend of rapeseed and coconut wax, manufactured around 20 miles from Homework's London studio.

The rapeseed crop used is grown in the EU on existing agricultural land. The wax contains Certified Organic coconut oil grown by small holder farmers in Asia with no deforestation involved.

All products by Homework are non-GM, palm-free and vegan. For the scents essential oils and toxic-free fragrances are used.

Homework's story begins with a search for balance. After years of working for brands as a graphic designer, founder Stephanie was craving something that combined her love of design, community and the healing power of nature. And while the words home and work had always resonated in two different worlds, their joining together felt like the yin and yang she needed. This idea of opposite but interconnected elements that find harmony as a pair gave us our name: homework.

Usage

When you firts lit the candle, burn it until the melt pool reaches the edge of the jar. Also remember to trim the wick to 5 mm before relighting.

Shipping costs

The Netherlands

We are happy to offer free delivery on all domestic orders over €75.

Orders with a lower value ship for €6 or €4 when it fits a mailbox.

Europe

Regular orders to Germany and Belgium ship for €8. Customers from France, Luxembourg, Austria and Denmark receive their orders for €12.

The standard shipping costs for Spain, Italy, Portugal and most other European countries are €16.

An additional shipping fee may be added when orders exceed standard dimensions.

Rest of the world

We offer worldwide shipping of small items and accessories. Standard international shipping costs are based on the weight of your order and are calculated at check out.
