Ark Journal Volume 16 explores the home as a place shaped by time, memory and the lives that came before us. Architecture is never entirely fixed, but continues to change through the act of living in it, carrying traces of what has been and what remains.

Step into historic homes, contemporary interiors and spaces shaped by personal histories. Ramdane Touhami’s Roman home unfolds within Palazzo Borghese, while Ronan Bouroullec’s house in Brittany responds to the Atlantic coast. Nicolas Trembley’s 14th century priory retains the marks of its long existence, and Teemu Kurkela’s renovation of Akola brings him back to a house rooted in his childhood.

Elsewhere, Athena Calderone and Danielle Siggerud explore atmosphere in a TriBeCa apartment, Mayuko Aizawa considers history within contemporary architecture, and Minjae Kim opens a world of furniture and objects.
