Description

The Large Hasami Plate is part of Hasami's new Grey Collection, crafted from an intriguing blend of porcelain and clay in just the right proportions, combined with a fine inner glazing. This size perfectly serves as a lunch plate.

A decade after its launch in Japan, Hasami Porcelain introduce the Grey Collection. Simple in composition, the collection of plates, bowls, mugs and trays explores new forms of expression. True to the brand’s signature simplicity and functionality, the Grey Collection marks a sophisticated new chapter for Hasami Porcelain.

The plates and bowls are produced with around 50% less material than the original line, resulting in a delicate touch and lightweight feel.

Because of their shared diameter, the Hasami designs are multi-functional. For example, a plate can also be used as a lid.

About Hasami Porcelain

Hasami is one of the foremost pottery districts in Japan. Porcelain was first made in the area almost 400 years ago and was not only distributed all over Japan but also exported to Europe through the port of Nagasaki. The establishment of a production system at an early stage ensured reliability in quality and price, and its rich tradition kept alive.

Hasami Porcelain was born under the direction of Takuhiro Shinomoto of Tortoise (Venice, California), whose innovative concept integrates tradition and modernity in tableware.
