Ark Journal Volume 1
Ark Journal is a biannual magazine founded by Mette Barfod and made by an experienced team of designers, stylists, photographers and editors. The 240-page magazine is sold in 25 countries around the world.
In Volume 1 of Ark Journal the authors explore fundamental themes and the enduring appeal of modernism. Designer Ilse Crawford recounts her quest for the perfect chair and homage is paid to pure materials ranging from good old brick to textiles.
The makers discuss originality with Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in her perfect Helsinki home, imperfect harmony with Phillip Lim and artistic dissonance with collector Claus Andersen. Visited are the new generation architects that live in Poul Henningsen’s house, a secret house by Finn Juhl and a house by Richard Neutra. Farshad Farzankia created artwork especially for this first issue and explored is the studio of Danish sculptor Sonja Ferlov Mancoba.
Volume 1 has four different covers, we will randomly pick one for you.
